![]() Save and Load do not save at your actual location, but some random checkpoint that you aren't told about, so if you load a saved game you have to sniff all the farts all over again just in case you lost progress. You are stuck literally sniffing farts (i'm not kidding!) trying to figure out what will make the story move on to the next event. You can't tell what you need to do in order to advance the story. The move/look/think mechanic is rage inducing. While the translation's tone and jokes were a huge mess (and I'm not sure what the equivalent jokes were like in the original, and apparently YOU don't either as you say you've just started Japanese, though I have heard someone say that it involved a lot of Japanese reference jokes that could not be directly translated effectively), I don't think it's worth the effort of trying to restore the PC-98 version.įirst off, it is a FUCKING NIGHTMARE to play. El Dia, let it die or come back and remaster the original version. It’s a crime having an amazing game getting completely shit on time and time again. ![]() We need this game retranslated and uncensored. Everyone is getting robbed of a definitive remaster of this game. Plus, they’re based on the censored Sega Saturn version. And the biggest sin of all, it’s censored. The soundtrack uses inferior MIDI instead of FM synth. The translation is horrible, littered with constant Bill Clinton jokes. The Windows version, the only version that’s in English, is god awful compared to the original. However, EVE has issues in the English world. English fans of eroge can experience the masterpiece that is YU-No in both the Windows version, which is probably the greatest fan translation of all time, and the original PC-98 version (there’s also the remake but no one likes that). The scenario writer for Burst Error, Xenon, Love Potion, and YU-No, passed away the same year. ![]() The composer, Umemoto, sadly passed away in 2011 at the young age of 37. There’s been a remake of the original game, EVE Burst Error R, by the same company. So recently the EVE series has been getting some sequels like Rebirth Terror and the upcoming Ghost Enemies.
